Giving Your AC a Grade for the Year

Now that fall is in full swing, you’re probably nervously awaiting your kid’s report card at the end of the semester. Though, report cards are a good way to measure the success of a school’s program and how hard your kid is working to achieve those good grades. Why can’t the same set of principles be adhered to something else, like air conditioning?

Our air conditioners get a lot of use throughout the year here in Florida. Giving your system a year-end grade can be a really good way to gauge when to invest in repairs, maintenance, or even a replacement down the line.

Today, we’ll give you a good AC grading system that can help you break things down. If your suffering AC needs air conditioning service in Bradenton, FL, then don’t hesitate to tell us what grade you gave it and why!

Measure Your AC’s Condition

Using a grading system can be a good way to be aware of your AC’s condition. This is especially useful if you’re unsure as to whether you’ll need to replace it soon or not. Hopefully, these kinds of questions can be answered when you really think about the effectiveness of your AC.

A: Perfect Comfort and Efficiency

If you’re giving your air conditioner an A-grade for this cooling season, then you definitely don’t have anything to worry about. This can usually be attributed to a brand-new air conditioner, or one that’s been maintained and repaired when problems arise in a quick manner. All we can say is that you should keep doing what you’ve been doing!

B: A Job Well Done

An AC with a B-grade will still get the job done well, but there might be one or two problems setting it apart from reaching the A-grade. For instance, your comfort levels might be great, but your bills are starting to run too high. This could be a growing sign of inefficiency. Or perhaps your system makes a strange noise every once in a while, which signifies the need for repair.

Either way, it’s not too late to get your AC better grades next year. Just call our team for targeted repairs or schedule a maintenance visit.

C: Satisfactory

This kind of air conditioner might be doing an okay job, but it’s got a glaring problem that’s starting to get on your nerves. Maybe that noise it used to make once or twice is now being made every night. Or perhaps it’s just not cooling your home to the best of its ability on those really hot days. Either way, it needs to be addressed. There is still room for improvement!

D: Subpar

If your AC is unsatisfactory and running at subpar levels, then some major improvements need to be made. Let us inspect your system with a maintenance visit to see if we can pinpoint some repairs that can be made to target the problem. Or perhaps it might be time to start investing in a replacement.

F: Total Breakdown

This is unacceptable. If you’re paying for an air conditioner that’s broken down or just doesn’t work, it’s time to get it replaced. Thankfully, you’ve got plenty of time before the next cooling season gets into full swing. Call us today!
